Prof. Salvatore Ragusa, president of EURAAC 2020, has sent the link to the congress homepage. Everyone is invited!
Dr. Pedro De La Torre, from Cuba, sends this report on the last National Meeting of Acarology for Plant Health:
The National Meeting of Acarology for Plant Health was held in the province of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, from April 8 to 12, 2019, an event organized by the Unit of Central Laboratories of Agricultural Health (ULCSA), the Health Research Institute Vegetal (INISAV) and the host province. Twenty four specialists from all over the country participated and different aspects related to agricultural acarology were discussed such as new interceptions, work methods, pest problems, quarantine and training among others. In addition, a visit was made to protected cultivation houses where mite problems were discussed at the site. Within the training, the occasion was used to disseminate the post-event course during the IV Latin American and Caribbean Symposium in La Habana, Cuba with the theme: Taxonomy, Biology and Identification of Oribatid Mites, which was given on that occasion by the professors Pablo A. Martínez and Natalia A. Fredes, both from the National University of Mar del Plata, Argentina. It was a propitious moment to present work ideas for the next Acarology event in our country.
